I CAN DRIVE AGAIN!
I AM NOW SEIZURE-FREE
AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REDUCE THE DOSE OF MY SEIZURE MEDICATION FOUR TIMES.
I spent four years sitting in a lazy boy chair up to 75% of each day after having debilitating monthly seizures. Despite trying different seizure medications and visits with at least four different neurologists, my seizures continued to increase in intensity, eventually leading to multiple Grand Mal seizures, the most dangerous type. At first, my family would send me to the hospital each time, but eventually it became clear that hospitalization did nothing to help me. They would find me, carry me to bed, and then watch over me for one or two days while I would be incoherent and babbling. After several days I would be able to sit in the recliner, until I eventually could get up and cook dinner, or perform other household tasks.
I LOST MY MEMORY AND THOUGHT I WOULD SOON DIE . . .
In February of 2010 I had the most severe Grand Mal seizures in my life, which left me with no short-term memory and a badly damaged long-term memory. Within two weeks of these episodes a good friend called me and told me that she had been praying for me and that she believed I should try the nutritional shakes. I thought I had already tried these shakes four months prior to this, but in reality I had just taken a few shakes each week, whenever I felt like it, certainly never two shakes per day. I actually told my friend that I thought I was going to die from these seizures, possibly soon, and there was no use in trying anything. But she persisted and I decided to really try to take at least two shakes a day, every single day. I had to keep the three cans of product on the kitchen table right in front of my spot so I could remember to take them.
NOW I CAN SEW AND CROCHET AGAIN!
It took five weeks for me to notice any improvement, and amazingly I could begin to crochet again. During those four bad years I couldn’t keep a thought in my head for a minute; for example, "What is the next crochet stitch?!" So being able to crochet again was a major accomplishment. One year after I had my last seizure, my college-aged daughter showed me how to thread my sewing machine--something I had tried unsuccessfully many times with tears rolling down my face. Now, over one year later I have returned to being an avid sewer, as I was for many years previously. So my memory continues to improve and heal! I even taught a high-school level social studies class weekly this whole school year!
THANK YOU, ST. PATRICK!
I had only one more mild seizure, one month after starting my nutritional shakes, and since then I continue to take seizure medicine, but the dose has been decreased four times. I was eligible to drive again in September of 2010, and I just celebrated my second anniversary--no seizures for two years since March 17, 2010. For me St. Patrick’s Day has a very happy meaning! It was my last seizure! I NEVER miss my two shakes a day! Now I am ready to help other people recover their health through nutrition!
